Notes

Gilles, après avoir été l'un des marins les plus expérimentés de son temps, mourut sur son navire en juin 1668 et fut inhumé à Vigo en Espagne ; son coeur embaumé fut rapporté à Montaigu et enterré dans l'Église St Jean. On ne l'a pas retrouvé lors de la reconstruction de l'édifice en 1863. Ce célèbre marin ne fût pas seigneur des Ganuchères, mais l'aîné de ses enfants : Louis-Gilles hérita du titre de son oncle Julien.
