Alors établi à Vannes, en 1862, Ernest fit édifier l'élégante Villa Saint-Guen au nord de la ville. Il fit ensuite entièrement restaurer le manoir de Coat ar Roc'h en Commana.

Une rue porte son nom à Guingamp.
