Gaël de Montfort, issu de Bernard_II de Senlis et donc de Bérenger_II de Neustrie par sa mère, prétendait descendre des anciens rois de Bretagne<br />. Le comte Bérenger de Rennes devait tirer son prénom ( à l'époque son nom), de cette famille de Bayeux, comme l'a dit Guillotel dans son livre "La Bretagne des Saints et des Rois" ainsi que Merlet<br />. Conan_Ier le Tort prétendait descendre de Salomon par les femmes<br />Pour que l'ensemble de ces propositions soit vrai, il faut que Bérenger ait épousé une fille de Bretagne<br />Merlet fait la même hypothèse de mariage mais il assimile le père et le fils dans une seule et même personne<br />La.filiation avec ses parents reste à vérifier (voir également l'hypothèse de Moriarty in "Plantagenet Ancestry" p. 226 qui en fait un fils de Pépin de Péronne).
